The welding technology curriculum provides students with a sound understanding of the science, technology, and applications essential for successful employment in the welding and metalworking industry.

Instruction includes consumable and non-consumable electrode welding and cutting processes. Courses may include math, print reading, metallurgy, welding inspection, and destructive and non-destructive testing providing students with industry-standard skills developed through classroom training and practical application.

Graduates of the welding technology curriculum may be employed as entry-level technicians in welding and metalworking industries. Career opportunities also exist in construction, manufacturing, fabrication, sales, quality control, supervision, and welding-related self-employment.

Additional Information:

At the end of each semester, students have the opportunity to take an AWS certification test. This test is strictly optional and will not affect your final grade. In a 16-week semester, the certification test will be given during week 15 only. If you are taking an 8 week semester, the test will be given during week 7. There are personal tools students will have to supply. Contact any of the welding instructors for a complete list of tools needed while taking classes at the college.
