British Literature I ENG-241

This course covers selected works in British literature from its beginnings to the Romantic Period. Emphasis is placed on historical background, cultural context, and literary analysis of selected prose, poetry, and drama. Upon completion, students should be able to interpret, analyze, and respond to literary works in their historical and cultural contexts. After successfully completing ENG-112/113/114, students are eligible to take any literature course; the numerical I (1) and II (2) indicate only the time period covered, not the order in which to take the course.
